Abstract

The paper is devoted to issues related to the appointment of expert witnesses and in particular to verification of the qualifications of candidates for experts, allowing the selection of people with the highest professional qualifications, who have specific experience in the area concerned and also proper ethical predispositions. The study draws attention to significant deficiencies in the regulations in force in this matter and indicates the need to statutorily specify the procedure for the appointment of expert witnesses.
